I Have Learned...

I have always been a writer. So growing up, I would sometimes make lists of things that I have learned. That list has grown and I want to record it. I want others to learn what I have learned, and I want to remember the important lessons I have learned. So here goes…

I have learned that God heals broken hearts and shattered souls.
I have learned that it is always better to be true to yourself, than to try and impress others.
I have learned that forgiveness is required. It is not an option.
I have learned that the Power of the Atonement is so real. Repentance is real.
I have learned that God’s way is the right way and the only way to happiness.
I have learned that good things come to those who wait.
I have learned that love finds you when you least expect it.
I have learned that in order to survive in this world, you have to hold your head up high and keep going when the going gets tough.
I have learned that God loves everyone, including myself.
I have learned that tomorrow is always a new day.
I have learned that material things can only give you temporary pleasure. Material happiness doesn’t last.
I have learned that competing with others in whatever it may be, will only make you miserable and leave you wanting more.
I have learned that families are forever and that life goes on after death.
I have learned that music can heal a hurting soul.
I have learned that the person I am the best at being, is myself. Nobody can be better at being me, than I can.
I have learned that you will always make mistakes. I have to move on from them. Dwelling on the past and your mistakes won’t help and won’t fix what happened.
I have learned that even if you don’t necessarily like someone, that someone is everything to someone else. Everybody has someone who loves him or her with all his or her heart.
I have learned that it’s a lot easier to believe in yourself, when you have someone else who believes in you.
I have learned that people make mistakes, and so will you, so don’t be so quick to judge because we are all only human.
I have learned that it’s possible to love someone else more than you love yourself.
I have learned that being selfless is something we must all do more of.
I have learned that I can sing away my stress when nothing else seems to work.
I have learned that a picture truly is worth 1,000 words and because of this I take as many as I possibly can.
I have learned that managing your time is invaluable.
I have learned that you can never get time back; so use it wisely.
I have learned that you never know when God will take back the people He gave to you, so you should always make the most of your time with them.
I have learned that you never know when life will end, so you should live every day like it’s your last.
I have learned that having confidence in yourself changes your life; literally.
I have learned that unless you truly believe you are beautiful, you will never think so, even if everyone tells you that you are.
I have learned that you can only trust a few when it comes down to it.
I have learned that getting the best education you can is one of the smartest things you can do.
